A humdinger of an answer

Yesterday in class we did a simple experiment to look at surface tension and cohesion in order to further grasp the practicalities of the scientific method. The students were comparing the cohesion of water to the cohesion of water mixed with soap. I then asked the following question:

1. Explain your results from both parts of the experiment in terms of cohesion and surface tension.

Her answer? It was liquid

(smack! palm slapping forehead)

Honestly, I don't know how you do it. That sounds like an answer I would get from my 6 year old. The children are the future indeed. I think I just joined DredBen's "Move to Mars" campaign.
